so the purpose of this blog will be to document Olga and my times together - my hope is that this will inspire me to ride more and also photograph the sights along the way - like yesterday when we took Ocean Drive past the airport and found a delightful little patch of spring violets - of course, didn't have my camera with me but that is about to change . . . . . and wait till you see how the camera will be transported. . . . . stay tuned . . . .more to come . , .

How I met Olga

It was one year ago that I first met her.   She was huddled in a dim corner at Benji's Bike Shop on St Simons Island.     I was looking for a bike to ride around the island during my annual winter visits.  Olga (the name I gave her when I got her home) looked as though she had been ridden hard and put away wet as they say.   What about this one? I asked Benji, the sixty something sexy owner.   Well, it's a Dahon and although it is showing some 'island wear', the good news is that it can be folded up and put in the trunk of your car.   Perfect! I thought.   I can transport it back and forth between my condo here at St Simons and my home in Covington, Kentucky.   and so , . . .  after a bit of  'haggling' Olga was mine!
